The International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste is around the corner. 9/29 Join with GS1!

Reducing food losses and waste is essential in a world where the number of people affected by hunger continues to show a rapidly increasing trend, and tons and tons of edible food are lost and/or wasted every day.

The International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste is an opportunity to call to action both the public (national or local authorities) and the private sector (businesses and individuals), to prioritise efforts and initiatives to cut food loss and waste to enhance efficient use of natural resources, mitigate climate change and support food security and nutrition.

Today we celebrate the International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste. Reducing food loss and waste is a global and shared responsibility and GS1 is here to help.  GS1 standards enable accurate product information across the supply chain, so all stakeholders can work efficiently to minimise food loss and waste.  GS1 standards can really  make a difference in this global fight. Let’s work together!
