POS Data Standardizing Initiative
In order to upgrade retail productivity, GS1 Taiwan is proposing the Point Of Sale Data Standardizing Initiative for use by the retail industry to support the seamless, standardized omni-channel consumer experience and satisfy consumer demand.
GS1 Taiwan has initiated a series of tasks in order to assist CPG/Grocery industry in Barcodes application closely to connect with creating the transparence of information flows.
With the global digital transformation and technological development becoming more and more mature, cross-border transactions through the Internet has become the part of daily life for many consumers, and it has also brought booming business opportunities to the global consumer market. Now GS1 barcode is one important requirement for major cross-border e-commerce platforms so as to facilitate their product information management processing via products listing mechanism. In order to complete the products listing on Amazon, eBay, Google Shopping, and many other e-commerce platforms, sellers are requested to provide product identification numbers, such as GTIN (EAN/UPC). With the success of barcode application in physical channels, GS1 keep playing an important role to seamlessly integrates offline and online channels during this wave of e-commerce.
